Reality shows vs MEGA serials..

Finally a topic to really rant about again!!
T.V.. one of the many wonders that technology has gifted us..
T.v shows.. one of the many sources of entertainment!!
T.v shows that i am gonna rant about... One of the many reasons that make you want to implant your head into your T.v screen!!...

ok so first up we have Reality shows!!
We have all seen reality shows..
some of them feature future playback singers.. some of them feature future actors.. some feature amazing dancers.. and some feature DERANGED PEOPLE WHO WANT TO GET MARRIED ON NATIONAL TELEVISION!!

WHAT IS THE WORLD COMING TO??!
I mean wanting to get your marriage aired on national television is one thing.. but holding a competition to find out who the bridegroom is going to be??!
What's next??.. a reality show on adoption??
When Rakhi Sawant did just that.. I thought that was a once in a lifetime deal.. I seriously thought that we were witnessing the wedding of a person whose level of stupidity was unrivaled in all of the cosmos!
But as usual I was wrong!.. The level of stupidity that exists in the human race is as disturbing as something like this...


I know.. spooky isnt it??



After Rakhi Sawant there were many celebs and people who wanted to do the same!

Next .. One of The most controversial shows on all of television.. The Moment of Truth or its Indian counterpart "sach ka samna"..
This is a show where you get to destroy all your relationships and hurt almost everyone that is close to you.
And the more people you hurt, the richer you get.. YIPPEE!!
Here is the deal.. They ask you 'simple' yes or no questions..
You answer all of them correctly, you get 1 million dollars or in the Indian version.. 1 crore rupees
They put you through some kind of test at the beginning so that they can make sure that you don t lie on stage

Sounds simple enough..even sounds like a pretty sweet deal..
Well.. Imagine yourself sitting there..with a family member in the audience..
Your question might be something like.."Would you disown that person if you where offered a huge amount of money"...
And well many of the people have answered yes!
And the faces of the family members when the hear this are a sight to be witnessed!!

Now oddly no matter how morally wrong this show is..
ITS DAMN ENTERTAINING!! :D..

And the latest addition to the list of BOGUS reality shows is..

RAAZ PICHLE JANAM KA!

The show which 'reveals' secrets from your past life!
NOW C'MON!!
some people are superstitious enough as it is!!.. and bring something like this into their lives and pretty soon the level of superstition in the human race will surpass the level of stupidity!!
And we definitely ..absolutely positively DO NOT WANT THAT TO HAPPEN!!
And to make things worse this show is hosted by one of the biggest flop actors the bollywood film industry has ever produced..RAVI KISSAN!!
And to exacerbate things even more.. The show features 'Doctors' who help the participants 'recollect'!


Next up..
MEGA serials..
Boy oh boy!!
I dont even know where to begin with this!

Serials have had many people hooked on to them from the very beginning of television!
If reality shows are the Children of Annoyance... then these right here are the GRAND DADDIES!!
Some of the story lines are sooo stupid and that they make this guy right here look like Einstein




And their run times are unimaginably long!!
Some serials have more than 800 episodes!!
SERIOUSLY 800 EPISODES OF BICKERING QUARRELING HOUSEWIVES, THEIR CHILDREN AND EVEN GRANDCHILDREN??WHAT MORE COULD YOU POSSIBLY WANT??!!(for those of you with a less 'developed' brain who could not understand that, i was being sarcastic!!)
You could miss 1 whole year worth of episodes and still continue from where you left off!!
And almost all serials have the same kind of characters..
The innocent bride..
The EVIL mother-in-law who tries everything within her power to sabotage the wedding!!
Some serials even have the mother-in-law kill the bride.. and have the bride return as a ghost to haunt the mother in law!!

A simple and dull story such as a man falling into a coma and waking up 20 years later can be made into a serial which can run 20 years!!
EACH EXCITING EPISODE SHOWS THE MAN LYING IN BED AND DOING NOTHING!
I wouldn't be surprised even if something like that really did exist!!
Because right now.. the world has gone completely LOCO!!

The latest trend in serials is depicting the lives of children who have lost their childhood.. children who are left with no choice but to carry the burden of the family on their shoulders!!
REALLY??...
REALLY??
Is that what people want to see??
Ruined childhoods!!.. boy!! what a jolly subject to be watching on a daily basis!!
*sigh*..
THATS all i can do know..
That is all anyone who feels the same way as I do can do right now..

AAh!! yes.. another rant!!...i just loove doing this!!
This time its about something that everyone hates!!
SPAM!!

YOU HATE IT.. I HATE IT.. ALL OF US HATE IT!!
Whether it is an sms or an email.. there is nothing more irritating than those pointless and often misleading forwards!!
And the sad fact is that there are loads of people who buy into this 'crap'.
Like just the other day I found a person who was raving about how you could charge your cell phone using banyan leaves!!
The other person was all..


Ofcourse at that moment, I wanted to do nothing more than just to go there and splash a glass of water at that guy's face(ofcourse in a nice way :D) and ask him to use his brains!
I mean if you read something as 'spectacular' as being able to charge your cellphone with banyan leaves,..just stop and think for a while before going around screaming to the world and thus looking like a complete moron!

I wonder who the people behind these forwards are...
I wonder what they do for a living because clearly they have a lot of free time on their hands!
I really really wonder what might have been going through the minds of these people.. the problem here is they dont realize the damage that they are causing.
The internet is a very powerful weapon!..It is not something to be toying with! not to mention again that these are the most annoying things you can come across in the internet!

What comes to my mind right now is one particular forward which had created a frenzy two years ago..
It said that on some day(I dont remember the date very well) the sun would not set..
It said that we would have 3 days of continuous sunlight followed by 3 days of continuous nightfall!!
Everywhere I went it was the same thing!!.. sort of like what the '2012' theory is right now.
And of course such a thing never happened!!
But it had many people anticipating the arrival of the said date!!.. I even had some friends who did not come to school that day!

And ofcourse there those emails where you have jaw dropping pictures attached to them.
Like one of these recent ones which showed a picture of a guy being sucked out of an airplane!.
The email said that it was taken just before that airplane crashed!
Seriously folks, If you are in an airplane that is about you crash , would you be taking pictures with your camera??...
And there is this one picture which claims to have been taken from the highest point on the Earth in which you can actually see the Earth bending around!!

Folks, i'd like to introduce you all to a very good friend of mine..its called PHOTOSHOP!!
so the next time you see something like that stop being an...


But all these forwards arent that 'annoying'..
The ones that really make you want to pull your eyes out of their sockets and chew on them are those which actually ask you to forward them!...
Like some those messages which say that it will add 10 years to your loved one's life!

If you actually believe in those and forward them then you'd be better off doing this..



And then there are those messages which claim that some child needs money for an operation and if you forward this message some huge multinational corporation is gonna give them 10p for each forward or something!!..
NOW I ASK YOU... DO YOU ACTUALLY THINK A COMPANY LIKE GOOGLE OR MICROSOFT IS GOING AROUND SEEING IF THERE ARE CHILDREN WHO NEED MONEY FOR OPERATIONS?!!.. AND EVEN IF THEY WERE TO HELP SUCH A PERSON, WHY OH WHY IN THE WORLD WOULD THEY WANT YOU TO FORWARD THAT DUMB MESSAGE!!

Recently some people have been busted for forwarding false info..
I just hope they find the losers who create these and BURN THEM IN THEIR OWN OIL!!..

..okay maybe that was going a little too far.. but hey!! I am sleepy and Cranky!!

Nt so critical Theories!! :D

Okie so as i said earlier here i shall post some of my 'theories'..
Well these theories are a result of 40- 45 mins of intense 'thinking' :p
Well i dont know if 'theory' is the right word to describe these
I owe part of these theories to learning chemistry!!
You see in chemistry we learn that anything and everything is made up of atoms!
And well thats just the problem that i came across!!..
Atoms! thats it!! We are all just a bunch of atoms! No matter what we do or whatever we may call ourselves, we can never change that!
So i ask you what makes us 'alive'??.. and i dont mean it in any cheesy way!..
I ask you this with the same tone of seriousness as when i would ask you for your name or something!
Because this one has got me really puzzled!
And when we talk about 'ourselves' what are we talking about?..
When I say I am hungry,.. Do i mean that a particular atom in me is hungry??
And what is 'hunger'?.. i mean on scientific terms! what is happening ??.. is it some sort of a chemical reaction??!!

IS THIS YOU??



And most importantly what happens when you die??
What happens to the 'you' that is inside you??!

Thats just one half of the story..
Thinking about all this got me thinking even more!!

Atoms make up a body.. and ofcourse they interact with each other..
What if.. we are all part of an even bigger creature!!
And what if the things that we do affects the life processes of the 'bigger' creature??
Could other bigger creatures be studying about us the same we are studying about atoms??


JUST THINK.. YOU COULD BE A PART OF THIS THING RIGHT HERE!!



And well thats when i realized that 'thinking' can really mess you up!!
I started thinking even more!!
A lot of 'what ifs' arose!!
Like for example..
What if our whole life is just a dream??.. And one day you just wake up to find that nothing is the way you have imagined it to be!
Scary i know!!
Or what if you are actually crazy??!!..
And all that you are witnessing are hallucinations caused by the madness??
And that final thought just there got me thinking even more!!
What exactly is craziness??
Who are the crazy ones?.. a mentally insane person may be thinking that we are the crazy ones!!
So that made me realize that Craziness depends upon largely on your perspective!!



JUST WHO EXACTLY IS CRAZY?..IS IT A WALKING BUNNY WHO SEES A BEARDED MAN?? OR A BEARDED MAN WHO SEES A WALKING BUNNY!!..THINK!


I ve actually got much much more from where that came from!! :D

Stupid pointless advertisements!!

3..2..1.. LETS GET READY TO RUMBLEEEE!! :P

Okay so you are at home watching this movie..
It has reached a part where the villain who has been kept in the dark for almost the entire movie is about to be revealed..
Just as they show the guy's face... TING!.. "this movie is brought to you by"..
GRAAH!! I cant tell you how irritating that gets!!
every single time that happens i feel like i want to rip my hair out!!
And the thing about these ads are .. that they dont even make any sense!!
The stuff that they show on advertisements rarely has anything to do with the actual product these days!!
I mean theres this one ad where a little girl and her mother sing.. DUM DUMA DUMBAR.. everytime i see that i go " WHAT HAVE I DONE TO DESERVE THIS??"..
and to make things worse.. they show the same ad twice or thrice during one commercial break!!
OKAY WE GET IT!! THIS SOAP IS GOOD! THAT CHOCOLATE TASTES GOOD!
Man!!..
And they just seem to get stupider and stupider don't they?...
All i have to ask is WHY??!!..
I mean what are the makers of these ads thinking??!!
What do they take us for??.. a buncho brainless idiots ??
And the sad part is that there are people who actually believe in these ads!!
A guy actually filed a case against a deodorant company because he used the same deodorant and followed the instructions on the tin exactly and still did not have any better luck with attracting women!!
NOW WHOEVER THAT GOOD MAN IS.. i have this to say to you



Ofcourse there are good ads as well.. but since the topic is about stupid pointless ads i am not mentioning any of them here :D
But out of all the ads the most annoying ones are those that you encounter at the theaters..
Its like stepping into a time capsule.. The ads that they show are so darn old that you might even see a dinosaur running around in the background!!
And to make things even more aggravating the number of ads seems to be increasing day by day!!
Theres isnt a place you can go if you want to escape advertisements!!
If like in the terminator movies, Advertisements were to come to life and try to take over the Earth.. there will be no stopping them!!
Hey!!. that could make a neat movie!!.. it could be titled THE ADS!
And Roland Emmerich could direct it !!.. since hes soooo obsessed with "End of the world" movies!!
Its poster could go like ...





I really wonder how much the makers of these ads get paid!!
Its seems to be a really easy job!.. all you have to do is think of a random situation! Thats it!.. And finally after depicting that situation.. you can show a screen saying "BUY insert product name here AND ROCK ON!"...Come to think of it I am really beginning to doubt whether they are even approaching 5 year olds to make Ads!...
I mean who else would come up with the idea of a kingdom visiting a giant orange so that the sun would rise once again !..(btw the product that they are advertising here is washing powder!!)


Aa well.. thats pretty much it I guess..
I think I'l put forward some of my 'theories' in the next post rather than go on a rant again :D.. I need some time to let the stress build up!! :D

MOVIE REVIEW:2012!!(Again)

Okay i know .. you might be thinking.. "whats up with this guy and 2012?? "...
Its just that i sorta wanna stop everyone from raving about 2012 so much!! ..its kinda starting to get a little annoying!..
And well even though not many people read this blog and the raving wont probably end.. i can at least say i tried!..
So let the ranting begin!!




One of the most hyped up movies of all time...
After months and months of the awesome trailers..
After the long wait..
2012 proves to be....


A bit disappointing to be honest :D
Well the thing is.. with 2012 you have a movie with tons and tons of special effects and..and.. well thats just it!!.. it has got tons tons of jaw dropping special effects and nothing else.
The director of the movie Roland Emmerich is notorious for just that!!
His previous 'disaster' movies The Independence Day and The Day After Tomorrow seemed to have better storyline though.
He said that this was going to be his last disaster movie.. and he has gone all out on this one!!
The level of craziness in the movie is unmatched!!
You have a guy driving a limousine through a collapsing building, the same guy maneuvering an SUV through raining fireballs!.. You have a crazy radio jockey who seems to be the smartest person in the movie.. An airplane dipping beneath a train thats falling off a cliff!!
YOU HAVE SHIPS SMASHING THE WHITE HOUSE, YOU HAVE SINKING CITIES!!
and when you think he cant get any crazier, he throws a tight rope walking dog at you!!
And after you get past all the craziness..and trust me you will!.. the unthinkable happens..
YOU START TO GET BORED!.
Thats right .. a disaster movie where you get bored!!
I mean the end of the world is all fine and dandy.. but stretching it out to last more than 2 hours??!..C'MON!!
The movie does make an attempt to get emotional though.. with a few good speeches here and there that might touch you.. and a few scenes where he tries to depict the importance of relationships and stuff.. But none of them seem to bring about the desired effect..
And well as morbid as this sounds.. they could have shown the 'death' scenes with more detail..
I mean sure there are people dying in the movie.. but you dont actually see them dying..
All you see is cities being dismantled by the forces of nature.. even when they do show scenes of people dying.. all you see is a big rock or boulder crushing hundreds of tiny people!!
The performances by the actors were pretty good though.
John Cusack who plays the lead role has played out his part as a common man brilliantly.
The secondary plot is about a family that seems to be falling apart..not much to talk about there either..
If you are a person who enjoys a lot of special effects and who doesn't care much about the story then 2012 is a must watch..
Otherwise.. meh.. watch it if you have nothing better to do.
So MY FINAL VERDICT FOR THE MOVIE IS THAT IT IS A...




DUD!!


And as usual for those of you who still believe 2012 is Armageddon,...

Ok now that i have explained why you shouldnt be so hyped up just coz of some dumb prediction made by some dumb(ok, they may not be that dumb) civilization which doesnt even exist,
Lets move on to other reasons why people seem to think the world's curtain just might be falling.
1.PLANET NIBIRU!
Well this theory states that an alleged planet calld Planet X or Planet nibiru shall strike the Earth on 2012.
And Do you know what (or 'who') the basis behind this theory is??..





Thats right folks!!
ALIENS!!
People have claimed that they have been 'channeled' this information by extra terrestrials!!
AWESOME!! aint it??.. Just think... One day, you are sitting at your desk, Minding your own business when suddenly!!..
You see an image in your head saying "PLANET NIBIRU IS GONNA HIT THE EARTH IN 2012

ALIENS"!!
Man I wish I had that vision!!
Now if you are one of those people who actually believe this can happen.. then i suggest you stop reading this blog now!! (Nothing is going to convince you)!!


Wait!.. since I am in a pretty good mood today, I'l explain why you shouldnt believe this..
At night if we look at the sky, we can spot many stars!! and some planets.. These stars and planets are light years away from the Earth!. If a whole planet is to collide with the Earth in 3 years, it should be real close!. And yet do we see a Giant Boulder in the sky which seems to be getting closer and closer??.. NO!!
AND THEREFORE THIS THEORY = DUD!




2.GEOMAGNETIC REVERSAL
OF all the theories,.. this one seems to be the most 'thought out' one..also the most 'scientific' one.
This theory claims that on 2012 a massive solar flare will occur causing the already weak magnetic field of the earth to 'shift'.
In even simpler terms,
The Sun will send out a massive solar flare which will cause the North pole to become the south pole and the South pole to become the north pole.
While it is true that the Earth is overdue for a geomagnetic reversal, This phenomenon isnt something that takes place in a day or in a year.
The estimated time required for a Geomagnetic shift to be complete is approximately 5000 years!!.
And since it hasnt started yet, I dont think we have anything to worry about!
But wait! there is more!!
No one has been able to deduce how a solar flare is going to affect the Earth's geomagnetic field..
And to make things worse for the 'believers'..This solar flare is expected to occur on 2013.. plus the 'massiveness' has been exaggerated. The only difficult this thing is going to cause, is the failure of telephone lines and satellite communications for a little while.
NOW FOR SOME OF YOU, THAT MIGHT INDEED BE THE END OF THE WORLD!!









SO THERE!!
I HAVE EXPLAINED WHY I THINK 2012 ISNT ARMAGEDDON!!

And for those of you who still with all your hearts believe that the world is indeed going to end.....

2012!!

Okie let me start by focusing on a topic that has become one of the hottest points of debate all over!!.
And for those of you who couldnt figure out what this post is about from the heading,(btw congratulations! you have managed to earn my pity!) this post is about the whole " OMG THE WORLD IS COMING TO AN END IN 2012" thing.
And if you are one of those people who truly believe that the world is going to end..well i ve got news for you.. IT ISNT!
and now i shall explain why we still have years and years of life left on Earth.
Let me start with the main reason behind all the commotion....
The Mayan calender,which predicts that the world will come to an end on winter solstice 2012.
Now while it is indeed true that the Maya were a highly advanced civilization..just stop and think for a while..
If they could really predict when the whole word is going to end, then surely they could have predicted how their civilization was going to end.. and hence could have taken preventive measures..
And do we see Mayans running around??
No!!
Okie if that wasnt a good enough reason, there is more!!
This so called 'advanced race' was one that sacrificed virgins to please their gods!!

And well if you still believe that Mayans are to be really taken seriously..
In that case ..
If you really do some research you will find that the Mayans never said that the world would come to an abrupt end..
They only said that after 2012 a new world would be born..
Now how you interpret that piece of information is all upto you

And finally it all comes down to who you choose to believe..
