The War Rages on..

Greetings fellow rational(and some irrational)  beings.
As I mentioned in my 'reinvention' post, this post will NOT be a rant, but it still ought to be fun never the less :D.

Alright, So every Indian who isn't a complete blockhead knows the Ramayana. If not in detail, the basic premise at least. We have many more epics where Demons and Gods fight it out, each trying to stake their claim to the Universe.
We have pretty much the same thing in all religions. Good vs Evil. And although, good always seems to triumph, evil keeps coming back. Various forms, new tricks, and keeps giving the good guys a run for their money. Now we live in an age where we don't really have these massive battles. We don't have demon kings or holy heroes. Whatever happened to all the commotion and the hullabaloo?. Is the battle over?. If so then who won in the end?.

Closest thing we have to a modern day demon king.

My answers to the above questions are what this post is all about. The war my friends, is still very much on.
Good vs Evil is something that will continue to go on until the end of time. It is what the world  runs on. In the ancient texts evil kept coming back because evil had no choice BUT to come back. That is how things are meant to play out. Good cannot exist without evil and neither can evil exist without good.
And the war is as fierce as ever. Evil keeps getting stronger and so does good. Countless lives are lost, Millions are injured and there are no signs of it all ending, EVER. The casualties after both the World Wars combined do not even measure up to half the casualties as a result of this contest.

                                                                 A lot worse than this.

Now where is this battle you ask?. Where are all the disfigured evil monstrosities fighting their perfectly sculpted adversaries? .

We are the battlefield. What this humble servant of the force believes is that the ultimate battle of Good vs Evil is inside each and every one of us. And I like to believe that these are the same battles the ancient texts talk about. Not the literal war between horned demons and heavenly angels, but the war that rages on every second in the minds of the people. The victims of this war can be anybody from your closest loved ones to a complete stranger living in the opposite hemisphere.

Every decision we make  reflects how the war has tilted. The disfigured monstrosities represent the voices that compel a man to do things he/she later regrets. The demons are the easy to find. Those who are too lazy to look deep within themselves may often find their minds occupied only by these demons. They may find that each decision they make turns out to be one that hurts people. One that they wish they hadn't made. Keep listening to these demons long enough, and you will soon completely lose the ability to search for good. The demon's greatest strength is its illusiveness. It requires great wisdom to spot a demon in the first go.

The protagonists, are always harder to find and are always fewer in number. But their power and ability is immense. Do enough of searching before making each decision and  soon you will find each good decision easier to make. With each act of good, you will grow more accustomed it. And where as the dark side will continue to pull you toward it, you will find resisting a lot easier.

The war within

Like I mentioned earlier, the idea of the demons and beasts from the scriptures and ancient literature being personifications of negative thoughts and emotions seems more appealing to me.
And while there is a whole new Extra terrestrial  aspect that has been recently added to the mix in the perpetual debate on the validity of our ancient texts( Another post on that soon :D), I find this idea more 'infectious'.

And so, after all that 'deep' shit I just spat out ( spitting shit, now there is an image that is hard to get out of your heads ), all that I wish to say is that there are simply, no easy decisions. After all,
It is a war out there.
